Hello then welcome to LinuxS2O and in this guide I'm going to show you how you can
0:08
install Vine and set it up to use Windows applications inside Linux distribution
0:14
Guide is pretty simple just follow along me and you will be able to set it up properly
0:19
So let's get started. First of all you want to open up your browser and go to vinehq.com and it's actually vinehq.org
0:28
just type windhq.org and slash download head enter and this will open up the page here you can see
0:37
there are a bunch of options available like if you want to install on android debian based distributions
0:42
fedora and ubuntu so this is ubuntu so ubuntu and ubuntu based distributions like debian
0:48
minh and kalylinik lubuntu xubuntu elementary OS so these all are the distributions that are
0:54
most widely used and for that you can follow this guide so it just
0:58
Click on this Ubuntu option here and here is this guide. So I'm just going to copy these all commands from here and run in the terminal
1:08
So this is the terminal and here is the first command. So this is for adding the 32-bit architecture in the Linux distro
1:17
So if your distro does not have the architecture then you can run this command
1:21
Either way you just run this command and this will do its thing. Just type in the password and this has enabled the 30 the 32 architecture now we need to get the key the signing key so that we can install and add the repo in the system
1:38
So copy this command and paste it here and hit enter. This will download the key and add the key in the system
1:45
Now we can add a repository. So a repository is a place where the application is actually stored and from there we download the application
1:53
And in order to download that application, we have to authenticate that application
1:57
is right the one that we want to install so we have added the key and now we have
2:03
to add repo so this is let us open to 20.04 so that is why I'm going to add this
2:08
repo here and you can add the repo as per your Linux distributions usually you just
2:14
have to add the latest repo on the top that's what most of the people use hit the
2:20
enter and this will add the repo and update the system so this has added the repo and
2:27
I've created the system. Now you can run the command to install any of these three options that you get
2:33
So this is the stable. So this is the version that you should have because it is the most stable
2:40
Then this is the beta version, the development branch and this is the staging version, a more
2:45
kind of alpha branch that you can add. So I'm just going to install the stable one here
2:51
So just copy and paste the command. enter so this will download around 134 megabyte of data and then it will take around 1 gigs of your internal space and configure everything in the system While it is downloading I just going to grab an EXC file
3:10
So I'm going to download Notepad++, a very popular text editor for Pindos
3:16
So this is the Notepad Plus Plus website. I'm just going to click on the Notepad Plus Plus 7.8.6 release
3:23
And I'm going to download the PECIS file from here. So this is the installer
3:30
I say it is 3.6 megabyte and I can save it in the system
3:37
So it has downloaded. This one is also about to complete
3:53
So the installation has just completed and I'm just going to press control
3:57
to clean the terminal and I'm going to the download folder where I have downloaded the
4:02
noteped plus plus so I'm just going to see downloads and here is the XE file
4:09
that I want to install with VINE so I can type VINE and the file name I can hit the
4:16
type key to auto complete the file name I will hit enter and this will execute the VIN so
4:23
for the first time it has to download some additional files so they say
4:27
is a mono file that needs to be downloaded. So I will click install and it will download it and install in the system And the speed depends on your internet connection so if you have a faster internet connection than the downloading will take only a few seconds
4:46
it also have to download this another file so i'm just going to hit install again and it will install this file and this only needs to be done for the first time because it has to configure the vine and have all the files that are required
5:01
For the next time when you will install executable file, it will not download any kind of file
5:07
It just skip to the installer. So it has downloaded the required file and you can see a regular Windows installer now
5:20
I can select the language from here and I can hit okay
5:25
I can click Next. I agree and then next and then next
5:29
then next and then next and this will install like a regular application and I can finish
5:39
it and this will open up the noteped plus plus where is a Windows application running
5:46
inside Linux that way you can run almost all kind of application and you can also
5:52
run your games so that was it on how to install bind in a Linux distribution and
5:58
to use it to run Windows application. I hope you find it helpful
6:02
If you did, then don't forget to subscribe to the channel. And I'll catch you in the next one
6:06
Till then, take care and keep enjoying Linux
