Hello there and welcome to Linux Just Duo and in this video guide I'm gonna show you how to
0:09
install Google Earth on Linux. So for those who don't know what is Google Earth, Google Earth is
0:15
a really cool tool and it is available to Linux. It basically provides a 3d representation of our
0:21
earth using the satellite imagery. So you just can see the different cities and landscape from
0:27
different angles apart from these features it also offers street view and water and oceans view
0:34
so using the street view it gives you a 360 view of locations so for example if you want to visit
0:40
the seven wonders then you can simply search for any seven wonder in the google earth and it will
0:46
give you a 360 tour of that particular location you can also walk on the street of different cities
0:53
using this feature. And with the water and oceans you can zoom below the surface of the oceans and view the
1:01
3D representation of it. The tool is really amazing. My words are not enough to appreciate its features
1:08
Let me show you how to install it and then we will both use the tool So just search for google earth on the google click on the first link that comes up
1:21
click on the download google earth pro on desktop this will give you two options one for devian and
1:28
ubuntu based distribution and one for reddit family the rpm so if you are using like fedora
1:34
or edit open susa sentos then you can download this file if you are using
1:39
debian or ubuntu by distribution then you can download this .debian file this is
1:44
Ubuntu so I'm going to download the .dev file here so the file has been downloaded now let's install the file open up the
2:01
terminal and install the file. use the debian package command to install the
2:09
.dev file. the file is in the downloads folder so I have specified the folder
2:19
name so this is for home and this is the folder for downloads and this is the file name that I have hit the enter type in the password and this should install the google earth on your distribution
2:35
now simply search for the app in the application menu so here is the app let me simply open it in the full screen and here you can see this is the
2:51
representation the 3d representation of our earth so i'm currently in india so i'm going to
2:57
click on the indian map so i'm in the new delhi so i'm going to zoom for new delhi
3:05
so in the new delhi we have india gate and there are many heritage structures so i'm just going to
3:11
to go to the India gate I can also search here so I can type India gate
3:21
so here is the India gate as you can see let me simply change the view now if
3:28
you can't come to India then you can use the Google Earth to view Indian
3:32
heritage so near the India gate we also have the president house we call it Raspati Bhavan This is the Parliament of India so let me simply zoom it up so these are the huge structures that we have in India
3:49
now let me show you the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal also has a street view a 360 view
3:59
basically not the complete street view because the street view is blocked in
4:03
India because of some security issues the Tazman looks pretty great and let me
4:10
see if there is any 360 view available so this is how the Google Earth is and
4:20
you can use these different features I hope you find this video helpful and
4:26
enjoyable and if you did then do not forget to like the video hit the
