Hello there and welcome to LinuxH2O. I’m continuing with the Linux themes update for the month. It’s October 2020 now so let’s see what do we have got here.

This month we have a total of 6 themes for you.

  • Two GTK+ themes
  • Two icon theme packs
  • One cursor theme pack
  • One GRUB bootloader theme

So you can see it’s full of 360° customization for your favorite Linux distribution. Now let’s see the updates.

New GTK+ themes for Linux

People have a great interest in Apple products so the demand for themes that mimic MacSO is high, anyway, I have two newly trending GTK+ themes for Linux this month.

1. McMojave theme

McMojave theme

McMojave is a macOS Mojave like theme. It mimics it very well, giving you the MacOS feel right in your favorite Linux distribution.

It supports GTK3 and GTK2 which means you can use this theme in desktop environments like:

  • Gnome
  • Unity
  • Budgie
  • Pantheon
  • Cinnamon
  • XFCE
  • Mate, etc.

Supporting that many desktop environments, it also supports all the perks that come with them. You can get the theme from the below link.

2. WhiteSur GTK theme

WhiteSur GTK theme

WhiteSure is another theme that is like macOS with modern twists. It exceeds the macOS aesthetics and dabbles into the free world of creativity.

This theme is very similar to the features as the above one, this is because both are developed by the same developer(s).

You can get it from the below Github repository.

New Linux icon theme packs

1. Inverse icon theme

Inverse icon theme

The inverse is a colorful icon theme. It has the circle icon design which looks amazing on a Linux desktop. The icon pack has inspirations from the legends like Numix, Paper, and Papirus icon themes.

2. Reversal icon theme

Reversal icon theme

Reversal is another one. Both Reversal and Inverse icon theme packs are designed by the same developers so they have the same characteristics.

The only difference is that the Reversal has a rectangular shape instead of circular.

Cursor theme update for Linux

MacOS BigSur Cursors

MacOS BigSur Cursors

MacOS BigSur cursors are inspired by the macOS but have their own design elements in it.

These are the same guys who designed the Bibata cursor icons which are my favorite.

Linux Mind

Linux Mint is a minimal looking Grub bootloader theme for Linux. It is simple as hell and goes with the MacOS theme.
